The Timber Accord is an affiliation of all the timber industry trade associations in the UK, conceived by Wood For Good, the timber industry’s campaign to promote use of wood in design and construction. In 2014, they launched a 16-page manifesto titled ‘The Timber Industry: Growing our Low-Carbon Economy’ that set out the role timber can play in creating a low-carbon built environment.

The manifesto (read on Issuu) was launched at the Accord stand at Timber Expo 2014, and looked at highlighting the uses of timber in the construction industry as a sustainable, low-carbon delivery system, and how building with timber can help the UK Government meet its urgent requirement for affordable housing without compromising on quality or the target of all homes being zero carbon.
